Claude Artifacts

Claude Artifacts for local business: checklists and worksheets

Use Artifacts to generate interactive checklists and quote worksheets without engineering. Treat UI polish as draft UX, not verified business logic.

What you will be able to do

You will use Claude Artifacts to generate a simple interactive checklist, quote worksheet, or tracker you can click through—without writing application code—and you will still verify every number before the floor trusts it.

What Artifacts are

Artifacts are interactive outputs Claude can create beside the chat: documents, simple apps, and worksheets you can iterate on. Availability and features depend on your plan and settings—confirm in Claude’s help center for your account.

In owner language: Claude builds a small working tool in a side panel while you talk.

Good first jobs for a local business

  • Opening/closing checklist the front desk can tick
  • Quote worksheet with your approved ranges and blank [NEED] cells for site-specific items
  • Simple job tracker (requested → quoted → scheduled → done) with no customer secrets baked in
  • Training quiz from an SOP you already verified

These beat a wall of chat text when the team needs something they can reuse.

What Artifacts are not

  • Not a replacement for your real scheduling or accounting system
  • Not automatically correct because the UI looks polished
  • Not a place to store card numbers, health details, or passwords
  • Not “done” until a person who does the job clicks through every path

Try this job: one quote worksheet

Goal: A simple worksheet staff can fill before a proposal goes out.

  1. Open Claude (Project for Quotes if you have one — Projects guide).
  2. Prompt: “Create an Artifact worksheet for a residential service quote. Sections: customer basics, scope checklist, labor/materials lines, exclusions, next ask. Do not invent prices. Leave price cells blank or labeled [NEED APPROVED RATE].”
  3. Click through as if you were quoting a real job. Note confusing labels.
  4. Prompt: “Fix only the labeled issues. Keep blanks for anything we must fill from our rate sheet.”
  5. Export or copy the structure into the tool your team already uses (doc, sheet, or CRM note), or keep the Artifact for internal drafts if your plan supports that workflow.
  6. Have one estimator verify against a real past job.

Human verification checklist

  • Every default number matches an approved rate or is blank
  • Exclusions match your real policy
  • No fake “standard discount”
  • Mobile-readable for someone in a truck
  • Version date on the sheet

Fit next to long documents

Use Artifacts for small interactive helpers. Use Claude for long documents when you need a multi-page SOP or proposal narrative.

Short close

Let Claude build the worksheet—you still own every rate, rule, and tick.

Keep these

The working rules

Artifacts are interactive generations beside chat. Ground rates and policies; verify interaction paths before operational use.
