For law firms and attorneys

People find your firm, and someone answers when they call.

We build and run your website, keep your Google listing current, and answer the phone around the clock. The receptionist takes names, numbers and matter type, and gives no advice.

Where the work goes missing

What we run for you

01

A website we build and keep running

Practice areas in plain words, the people in your firm, and the ways to reach you. We host it, patch it, back it up and watch it. Send us a change to a bio or a fee page and we make it. It is in the monthly fee.

02

The phone answered, day and night

It picks up on the second ring at any hour. It takes the caller's name, number and what the matter is about, and it gives no legal advice at all. The note reaches you by text and email while the caller is still on the line.

03

Your Google listing, kept current

We claim the profile, fill in practice areas, hours, address and photos, and keep it current when things change. Every client is asked for a review once the matter closes, and the replies are written and posted for you.

A call we would take for you

Example, not a real call

A car accident call at eight in the evening, after the office has closed

Caller

I was in an accident this afternoon and the other driver's insurance has already called me twice. Is anyone there?

Receptionist

You've reached our after-hours line. I can take your details and pass them to an attorney first thing. Can I start with your name?

Caller

David Orr, and my number is 646 212 0980.

Receptionist

Thank you. Can you tell me in a sentence what it's about? I can't give legal advice, I just take the details so the right person can call you back.

Caller

Personal injury, I think. My neck's bad and I don't know whether I should be talking to their insurance at all.

Receptionist

I've written that down word for word and flagged it as urgent. You're down for a call back tomorrow between nine and ten.

Included, flat

One monthly fee covers all of it. Nothing here is billed separately and there is nothing for you to run.

Questions we get

Does the receptionist give legal advice?

No. It takes the caller's name, number and a short description of the matter, then stops. It does not comment on a case, suggest what someone should do, or discuss fees beyond what you have told it to say. If a caller pushes, it says a attorney will cover that and moves on.

What happens to what callers tell it?

The call is transcribed and sent to you by text and email, and kept in your account. It goes nowhere else. If a caller starts giving detail you would rather not have taken down over the phone, the receptionist stops them and books a call back with you instead.

Can it help with conflict checks or book consultations?

It asks the questions you give it, including the name of the other side, and puts the answers in the note so you can run the conflict check yourself. If you give it access to your diary, it books consultations into the slots you have marked as available.

What is included in the monthly fee?

The website, hosting, maintenance, monitoring, backups and small changes. The Google Business Profile, the review requests and the replies. The phone receptionist if you take it. Nothing is billed separately, and a text change to a practice area page costs nothing extra.
